Criteria for
the funding

What is promoted?

The funding is provided within the company for the areas of digitalization and IT security. Specifically, the development, introduction or improvement of products, services and processes is supported. This also includes the migration and porting of IT systems as well as the introduction or improvement of IT security.

Which companies are supported?

Small commercial enterprises that have a permanent establishment in the Free State of Bavaria and implement the measure there are eligible to apply.

Employees: up to 50 | Annual turnover: max. 10 million euros |
Bitotal / year: max. 10 million euros

A commercial enterprise is defined as a business within the meaning of Section 2 of the Trade Tax Act. Since May 2025, a valid ELSTER business account has been mandatory for applications.

Not to be funded

Spending on standard hardware (PCs, laptops, tablets, smartphones, printers, telephones), standard software (those that you can buy in the electronics market), standard websites or web shops, standard online marketing measures
Measures with eligible expenses under 4.000 euros
Services that are provided before the application is submitted as part of advice, planning or structuring of the project

Measures that have already been implemented or for which a contract has already been concluded
Replacement purchases
Measures that are already funded under other programs (federal, state, EU).

Digital bonus Bavaria Options

The following two options are intended to enable small companies to digitize their products, processes and services and improve IT security.

Grant of up to 30.000 euros for measures with a particular innovative content
The funding rate is up to 50 percent of eligible expenses
Can only be granted once within the term
A special innovative content is a decisive prerequisite for funding (detailed description of the innovative content and the degree of novelty required)

From a funding digital bonus Bavaria locked out are: Companies that are in insolvency proceedings or that meet the requirements under German law for the opening of insolvency proceedings at the request of creditors.
