Firewall, backups and already completely protected? Unfortunately it's not that easy!
Small and medium-sized companies in particular are often inadequately protected because they believe they are not a worthwhile target for attackers. However, the current security situation shows that many SMEs are also being attacked, as considerable ransom sums can also be demanded here.
Just recently, a company in Donau-Ries was attacked and operations were paralyzed. If all of this doesn't convince you to invest in your IT security just out of your own interest, the new EU directive NIS-2 will soon force you to counteract such incidents. From mid-October, all directly and indirectly affected companies will be required to implement a series of cybersecurity measures. In Germany, this affects around 30.000 to 40.000 companies, around 80 percent of which are not yet aware of how affected they are.
